JJ Hanrahan was the star performer from a Munster perspective but the visitors fell to a disappointing loss away to Glasgow Warriors in the PRO12.

Hanrahan and Robin Copeland scored tries but Jonny Gray sealed the narrow win for Glasgow at Scotstoun Stadium.

Finn Russell slotted a sixth-minute penalty but Munster scored the first try moments later when Hanrahan barged over.

The teams traded penalties but Copeland crossed the try-line on the stroke of half-time and Munster were in command again.

They took an 18-9 lead after Hanrahan’s conversion and looked to be heading for victory only for Leone Nakarawa and Gray to touch down.

Jean de Villiers was the only try-scorer for Munster on a disappointing evening in Belfast as they fell to defeat in this inter-provincial derby against Ulster.

Simon Danielli provided the killer blow for the hosts at Kingspan Stadium and Munster were left to suffer a heartbreaking narrow loss.
