Anton Lienert-Brown, left, Beauden Barrett, centre and Ardie Savea will be up against each other at New Zealand Rugby’s awards night.

Ardie Savea, Beauden Barrett and Anton Lienert-Brown have been nominated for the All Blacks player of the year.

The trio headline the list finalists for New Zealand Rugby’s annual awards, to be held on December 12 in Auckland.

They all enjoyed stellar years as the All Blacks made it to the Rugby World Cup semifinals before losing to England.

Savea is also nominated for Super Rugby player of the year for his work for the Hurricanes. He is up against the Crusaders’ Scott Barrett and the Chiefs’ Brad Weber in that category.

Kendra Cocksedge, Ayesha Leti-I’iga and Charmaine McMenamin are the finalist for Black Ferns player of the year.

The sevens teams will also have stiff competition for their awards. 

The women’s team sees Kelly Brazier, Sarah Hirini and Tyla Nathan-Wong as finalists, while the men’s team has Dylan Collier, Andrew Knewstubb and Tone Ng Shiu in the running. 

The Kelvin R Tremain player of the year award will be awarded to the supreme winner from among all the player of the year winners on the night.  

Cocksedge became the first woman to win that award last year.
