South Africa has caused a major boilover by beating the heavily favoured England 32-12 to win the Rugby World Cup for a record-equalling third time in Yokohama.

Rassie Erasmus’s side also created history by becoming the first team to lose a pool match en route to winning the World Cup, having been beaten by the All Blacks in their opening group fixture.
