Tom Curry is England’s only representative on the World Rugby Player of the Year shortlist – as Maro Itoje and George Ford were snubbed.

South African duo Pieter-Steph du Toit and Cheslin Kolbe are nominated as well as New Zealand flanker Ardie Savea, Welsh captain Alun Wyn Jones and – in a surprise call – USA hooker Joe Taufete’e.

Whoever wins the award will become the first player who does not play fly-half to take the prize in four years after Johnny Sexton, Beauden Barrett and Dan Carter have taken each award since 2015.
