Welsh fullback Liam Williams has been ruled out of the semifinal against the Springboks.

Wales have been dealt a major blow ahead of their semifinal against the Springboks with a freak training injury ruling out fullback Liam Williams.

Welsh coach Warren Gatland has named Leigh Halfpenny at fullback in one of three changes for Sunday’s Rugby World Cup semifinal against the Springboks at Yokohama.

Gatland’s other two changes see centre Jonathan Davies return from injury, replacing Owen Watkin who drops to the bench, and Ross Moriarty replaces injured No.8 Josh Navidi at eight.
