Brodie Retallick has sent a stiff figurative fend an English reporter’s way after a question he was none too impressed with.

The journalist riled up the All Blacks lock at Monday’s press conference by attempting to remind him about the time he confused a then young England lock Courtney Lawes with Kiwi politician and pseudo-celebrity Michael Laws during a tour of New Zealand in 2014.

“A few years ago you didn’t seem to be aware of any names of the individual players. Is that the case anymore and what do you make of their second rowers in particular?,” the reporter asked.

The All Blacks’ lock wasn’t amused by questions about his famous faux pas.

Retallick’s face was expressionless and his tone dour as he replied: “Is that supposed to be humorous? I made a mistake and called him the wrong name. Yeah, good on you.”
