The Barrett family have been mourning the death of Granddad Ted.

At the end of the All Blacks’ Rugby World Cup quarterfinal game against Ireland, Kevin Barrett was grinning from ear to ear.

And why wouldn’t he be? Three of his sons, rugby stars Beauden, Scott and Jordie, played an incredible game of rugby and continued to show the world why they’re among New Zealand’s best players.

But the boys didn’t just celebrate Saturday’s win amongst themselves – two of them headed towards the grandstand to snap a selfie with their former rugby-playing dad. Beauden even jumped up and climbed into the grandstand to join in on fans’ celebrations.

Kevin was standing in the crowd giving a thumbs up, surrounded by All Blacks and Ireland fans, while Scott took a selfie and Beauden smiled. The only one missing was Jordie.

The All Blacks shared the image on Instagram with the caption: “Nothing better than a photo with your dad after a #RWC2019 quarterfinal.”
