Former UK footballer Gary Lineker has sparked rage among fans of the All Blacks for his comments about the haka.

England football great Gary Lineker has backtracked after taking a swipe at the haka and deleted the offending tweet.

Lineker, a former professional footballer who holds England’s record for goals in Fifa World Cup finals, retweeted a video of the All Blacks performing the haka before their pool match against Canada with the comment: “Must be so hard not to just laugh at this if you’re the opposition.”

The Rugby World Cup social media team fires back with cheeky tweet that Lineker misinterprets, perhaps purposefully.
