Springboks wing Cheslin Kolbe has praised Richie Mo’unga for his game-changing tackle but says he should have scored against the All Blacks at the Rugby World Cup in Yokohama.
Kolbe – the best of the Springboks backs in 23-13 defeat to New Zealand – seemed set to score after a slashing break in the 46th minute on Saturday night, but was gunned down in a desperate cover tackle by Mo’unga.
Mo’unga later said he did not want Kolbe to “make a d— out of me”.
“He went for the corner so I had to kick it, get into second gear and try and get there.”

Kolbe – one of the world’s top wings and a French Top 14 champion with Toulouse last season – admitted he should have made a different call.
“I probably should have made an earlier decision to go to the outside,” Kolbe told South African reporters.
“But Richie showed good wheels to get me back into the corner [and into touch]. I just need to make sure that I finish things off
