England prop Joe Marler feared his World Cup team-mates would have ‘trust issues’ after he announced his retirement U-turn.

The 29-year-old hung up his Test boots last year but changed his mind after meeting Eddie Jones for a glass of wine in June.

Marler has since won the approval of his colleagues and, with Mako Vunipola injured, he could now start the opening pool games.
