Former South Africa captain Warren Whiteley says the Springboks can win the Rugby World Cup if they maintain their “amazing” defence and put the All Blacks under pressure.

Whiteley will miss the World Cup tournament in Japan through a knee injury after winning 23 caps between 2014 and 2014.

The 31-year-old Lions No 8 is confident the Springboks can be title contenders if they can sustain the form which won them the 2019 Rugby Championship.
