All Blacks lock Brodie Retallick suffers a dislocated shoulder against South Africa on Saturday night.

Brodie Retallick’s Rugby World Cup dream remains alive after his injured shoulder avoided significant damage.

The All Blacks lock dislocated his shoulder in the 61st minute of his side’s 16-16 draw against South Africa at Westpac Stadium in Wellington on Saturday night.

The injury came when Springboks replacement lock RG Snyman cleaned him out of a ruck, smashing into his shoulder with the full force of his 117-kilogram frame.

Retallick was in obvious pain as he left the field and was sent to Wellington Hospital to get the injury checked out, but was cleared of structural damage without the need for a scan.
