What is it?

England’s World Cup preparations are already fully up and running, with a win and a loss to Wales already under their belt. Saturday’s match at Twickenham is their penultimate warm-up fixture, with Italy to come on Friday 6 September at St James’ Park, Newcastle.

Ireland, however, are yet to get fully up and running. A relative second-string side dispatched Italy comfortably ten days ago, and since then Joe Schmidt’s squad has been at a warm-weather camp in the Algarve. They have back-to-back fixtures against Wales coming up, too, before the tournament kicks off properly on Friday 20 September.

What is the latest squad news?
