During his three-and-a-half year reign as England coach, Eddie Jones has called up 129 different players to training camps scattered across Europe.

On Monday, only 31 of those were invited to the WhatsApp group which indicated that they had made the final World Cup squad.

Now Jones must figure out his best starting XV before battle begins in Japan next month.

Stalwart names such as Owen Farrell, Mako Vunipola and Maro Itoje are written in with indelible ink but — with three warm-up games remaining — there are still a couple of places up for grabs. Here, Sportsmail looks at the main contenders still hoping to make a late run for a starting jersey.
