Former Hurricanes loose forward Brad Shields needs to overcome a foot injury to be fit for the World Cup.
New Zealand born loose forward Brad Shields is facing a race against time to be fit for England’s Rugby World Cup campaign.
The former Hurricanes star was sent home from an England training camp in Italy last week to receive urgent treatment for a ligament injury in his foot.
Shields, 28, will be sidelined for up to six weeks, meaning he’s unlikely to be fully fit until after the England World Cup squad is named.

Brad Shields is unlikely to be available for any of England’s World Cup warm-up matches.
England coach Eddie Jones will name his 31-man squad on August 12 ahead of his side’s opening match of the global tournament on September 22 against Tonga.
