New Zealand Rugby (NZR) will continue its contract flexibility with Jordie Barrett’s expected two-year deal.
The All Blacks utility back is expected to sign on with NZR through to the end of the 2021 season on Tuesday.
He will be back at the Hurricanes next season, but is understood to be negotiating a clause in his contract which will allow him to switch Super Rugby teams for the second year of his deal.
The Blues made a big play to get Barrett to join his brother, Beauden, in Auckland, tabling a higher offer financially than the Hurricanes for his services.
