Welsh legend Alun Wyn Jones will play on after this autumn’s World Cup having signed a new deal until 2021.
The 33-year-old Wales captain is understood to have turned his back on strong interest from clubs in England and overseas to commit to an extended National Dual Contract in his homeland.
The deal will continue to be 60 per cent funded by the Welsh Union and 40 per cent by his region, the Ospreys – and it could see him end his illustrious career with a fourth Lions tour.

Jones’ current deal was due to run out at the end of the Japan World Cup but having signed an 18-month extension he will continue to play at the Liberty Stadium – where he has been a mainstay since 2005 – for at least another two seasons.
The second-row, who lifted the Six Nations Grand Slam title in March, announced the news on Instagram.
‘I have some news I would like to share with you,’ he wrote.
